Descripción: This exquisite one-of-a-kind tapestry was handwoven on a backstrap loom then meticulously hand-embroidered by women artisans of Zinacantán, Chiapas. A group of master embroiderers collaborated for months to complete this textile that features the flora and fauna of southern México and Central America. The resplendent quetzal bird in the center is a powerful symbol of Pre-Columbian civilizations, and its tail-feathers have been used to create elaborate headdresses. The embroidered images on this heirloom item are so intricate, that you could spend hours exploring it with your imagination.
